COVINGTON – Mrs. Sallie W. Loyd*, 79, of 308 Union St. died at 6:50 p.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. Born March 25, 1899, in Kentucky, she was a daughter of Charles A. and Ida Baird Morgan. She married Owen Loyd on Oct. 1, 1928. He died Feb. 18, 1970. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Manley (Marie) Kenner of Kingman, Mrs. Lawrence (Vivian) Wiemken of Oxford and Mrs. Benn (Frances) Watkins of El Paso, Ill.; four sons, Russell of Shaumburg, Ill., Floyd of Hamersville, Ohio, Frank of El Paso, Ill. and Charles Jones of Duke, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Alvin Smith of Warsaw and Mrs. Freida Atkins of Gifford, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a grandchild are deceased. Arrangements are pending at DeVerter Funeral Home at Covington. – jlr
